Serenity was part of a Dalmascan tribe of Viera in the snowy mountains. During the war, Garleans offered her tribe riches in exchange for unhindered passage of their troops through their village, but betrayed their promise. Serenity's parents, among the village elders, chose to confront the Garleans for violating the deal, and were tragically struck down, and much of the village burned to set further example against defiance.With her home in ashes, and a desire to see what lay beyond the trees of their village, Serenity followed her big sister Shiv rather than rebuild, fleeing to the cities of Eorzea. In their travels, Serenity found that she had a passion for food, and devoted her energies to studying the culinary arts anywhere she traveled. She quickly worked her way up through cafés and restaurants, studying the best she could find.After years of running her own café in Gridania, Serenity was overcome by wanderlust and desire to see the world once again. Striking out more on her own, she began to travel the world, assisting establishments in refining their menus. One on such trip, Serenity came to the Wyldmyst Lotus, seeking a client, but grew enamored with community there. Serenity quickly became the chef and one of the bartenders, wanting to remain close to her dear sister and the lovely people she met there.
